For the past few years I have put together a year in review video of my family. It started when I heard about the 1 Second a Day app several years ago. While I have to admit, I would often forget to grab my one second of video each day, at the end of the year it really didn’t matter because I had enough video clips to string together a nice time capsule of the year. (Here is my 2018 video and here is my 2017 video).
I have grown to love these videos. Each one created with little clips of our life, captured on my iPhone (in my case I strung them all together using the iMovie app but the 1 Second A Day app can do it for you). I love that these videos are a diary of my family’s life and with everyone growing up so quickly, I know that having these short films will be something I’ll treasure for years to come.
So this year as you are contemplating New Year’s goals and resolutions, I encourage you to add capturing snippets of your life with your smartphone throughout the year. It doesn’t have to be perfect…you just want to remember your life, the big moments and small.
