Why I Have My Own Branding Sessions at Least Twice a Year

As a branding photographer, I believe in walking the talk. Having my own branding sessions at least twice a year ensures my online presence stays fresh and aligned with my business goals. It’s like updating your wardrobe to match your current style—your brand deserves that same attention!

Staying Consistent and Creating Empathy
Brand consistency is key. By regularly updating my images, I reinforce my message and show clients I value what I encourage them to do. When I see my own photos, I can see how they reflect my brand and how they can be used to create a cohesive look and feel.

In addition, having my own photos taken helps me to empathize with my clients. I understand how it feels to be in front of the camera and how important it is to feel comfortable and confident. This helps me to create a more relaxed and enjoyable experience for my clients.

Telling My Story Authentically
Each session captures a new chapter of my business journey. Whether I’m showcasing my love for traveling to the National Parks or a behind-the-scenes look at a photo session, these photos give my audience an authentic glimpse of who I am and how I work.

Boosting SEO and Staying Relevant
Fresh images mean fresh content, which is great for SEO. Updating my website and social media with new photos shows clients—and search engines—that my business is thriving. It also positions me as a current and relevant resource in branding photography.

Personal Growth Through Branding
Branding sessions challenge me to evaluate how I want to show up in my business. They push me to stay creative and align my imagery with my goals and the stories I want to share. Each session is an opportunity to refine my message and grow.

How I Use My Photos
From Instagram to my website, these photos are the cornerstone of my marketing. By having professional photos taken that show me in my element, I can create a more authentic and engaging online presence. They help me connect with clients, build trust, and show the personality behind my brand.

“I should’ve taken more photos.”

Trust me… taking plenty of photos to market your business has never been my problem. Narrowing them down? That’s the hard part. Can’t wait to share these photos with my client @janzendesign! 📷

Every time I head out for a shoot, I triple check my gear. Batteries? ✅ Memory cards? ✅ Camera actually working? ✅

I think it all started after I had a nightmare that I showed up and forgot to put the battery in my camera. 😅

Tell me I’m not the only one… other business owners — do you double (or triple) check everything before a big client day?
