The Key Question To Ask Yourself When Planning Your Branding Session

What stories do you want to tell?

That is the key question I ask all of my clients when planning a branding photo shoot. The answers help determine the props that you bring, the outfits you wear and even the location for the photo shoot.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I recently worked with my client Jen, an Arbonne consultant and yoga instructor to create a small library of images for her to use on social media.  Prior to her session we talked about the main stories she wanted to visually tell.  We came up with three main themes:

  1.  What she does (Arbonne consultant).
  2.  What she enjoys (reading and Arbonne’s tea and Fizz drinks).
  3.  Where she likes to work (cafes & outdoor park areas).

We then discussed the props that would go along with each category (i.e. books, mugs, tea, phone, computer).  All of these topics were incorporated into photographs we captured and she now has a terrific selection of images to tell her brand story on social media.

The South Bay just keeps pulling me back — and honestly, I’m not mad about it. I love any excuse to come down for headshot sessions, especially when it means catching up with my friend (and client!) Jamie from Design Compass - Interiors Consulting . Always such a fun day behind the camera and even better company! 💛📸 #brandingphotography #southbayphotographer #headshots #womeninbusiness ...

I can’t believe a week has already gone by since I attended the @womensnetworkingalliance Fall Business Summit. It was a wonderful day learning from and connecting with women business owners and friends. I enjoyed being one of event sponsors by providing my photography services. It’s always so much fun to capture the spirit of the day.

If you’re looking for a networking group filled with women who want to help your business succeed, I encourage you to check them out. They offer in person, hybrid and online chapters. Or feel free to send me a DM and I’d be happy to share my experience with you.

Shoutout to the amazing speakers @vantageshift_1 @kimwallacecoaching @abbyyoungstyling @gymparty_ . And a huge thanks to Carla and Tracey of @womensnetworkingalliance for bringing us all together! 🤗

When you’re the event photographer for the WNA Business Summit, the only way to get a photo of you with the group… is a good old-fashioned selfie 😄📸

I spent most of the day behind the camera capturing all the amazing moments, but couldn’t resist sneaking in at least one shot to remember being part of this incredible community of women! 💪✨
