Let’s face it, we are not alone when it comes to providing a product or service in our industry. We all have competitors. For example, I know I am not the only photographer out there who provides branding photography, there are hundreds of other great photographers in my area. But what differentiates me from my fellow photogs, is my story and that is true for you too.
It’s not enough to have a great product or service, to stand out from the crowd you need to talk about and visually represent what makes you unique and that is where your brand story comes in.
What Stories Do You Want to Tell?
When thinking about telling your brand story ask yourself the following questions:
- What are my hobbies, interests?
- Why did I start my business?
- What are the challenges/hurdles I face?
- What are the problems/challenges I help my clients solve?
- What success have I had?
- What do you want to be remembered for?
- How do you want to make your audience feel?
Now think about the types of images that would help visually represent these answers. Combining the images and the story behind each image, is what will help you increase your know like and trust factor and ultimately create connection with your audience.
