Friday Finds–Discovering a New Band

This week I am linking up to Kim Klassen’s Friday Finds and the new thing I discovered is a fantastic band called Ivan & Alyosha.

I am super fortunate to live 10 minutes away from an amazing venue called The Mountain Winery.  It is a gorgeous winery that hosts a summer concert series each year and this summer I had the opportunity to see The Barenaked Ladies (in June), Michael Franti and Spearhead (on Monday) and Brandi Carlisle (she played last night—yep, that was two concerts in one week!).

If you live in the Bay Area or are planning a visit, I highly recommend you catch a concert at this beautiful location.  There is not a bad seat in the house and the views of Silicon Valley are simply breathtaking.

Anyway, my friend and I went up the hill to see Brandi Carlisle (who was AWESOME BTW) and we were totally taken by the opening band from Seattle, Ivan & Aloysha.  OMG, they are so good.  You really have to check them out!  Their sound is high energy, indie-rock and what I loved most was how their voices blend so beautifully.  I swear any band that can harmonize like this always gets me.

Here is a little snippet I caught with my iPhone:

So good!

After the concert the band was selling their CD and my friend and I decided we needed a copy. We got a chance to chat with these super nice guys, have them sign our CD’s and even got a photo with them (please, disregard the red-eye).

I’ve been listening to their CD all morning and love all the songs!  The CD we purchased is called All the Times We Had and it really is soooo good!   Check out their tour schedule and if they happen to be in your area, book tickets and you, too, will be able to say, “I saw them when…..”

Ready to see this storage room get a glow up? What used to be random storage space is now my little creative corner. I’ve got room for all my photography gear and my craft supplies — everything in one place. Plus I’m able to put our extra furniture to good use. 😊

It’s not perfect, but it’s a great little creative space. 📷🎨💕
