My last 7 on 7 post for the year is a special one. Last night I had a wonderful evening celebrating my dear friend Kathy’s birthday in a city I love, San Francisco. Kathy and I were roommates in this wonderful city 25 years ago. We had both moved to San Francisco from Illinois and met through mutual friends. As it turned out we had both gone to the same university but we never met in college.
We were besties from the start and throughout all these years we’ve remained dear friends. So when her husband called to let me know they’d be coming out to celebrate her milestone birthday in SF, I was thrilled. And lucky for us we have another dear friend who has a beautiful home in this wonderful city. So we celebrated by watching the sunset, toasting friendship and enjoying an fantastic dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Slanted Door.
We reminisced about the good old days (like when Slanted Door was in the Mission) and how we shared our twenties together. Our husbands were co-workers (as were Kathy and I) and the four of us did a lot of exploring California together. I love these people and am so glad that although we now live in different parts of the US, that when we do get together all the years slip away and it is just like old times.
