10 on 10 November | Gather California

Earlier this week I had the amazing opportunity to attend Gather California, a fabulous photography retreat that Kim Klassen and Xanthe Berkeley  created together.   I adore these two women and have participated in many of their online classes, so when I heard about their event (which they announced in September) I was so tempted to go.  But I hesitated….I wasn’t sure if I could swing it and waffled back and forth for weeks.

With just a few weeks to go,  I decided to sign up (thankfully all the logistical aspects of getting there fell into place).  I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I went.  Xanthe, Kim and the magic maker Myriam created the most inviting, warm, and encouraging space for each person to feed their creative soul.

The biggest gift I received was the connection I made with my fellow “gatherers.”  I truly met the most amazing, creative women.  It’s hard to believe that in only 2 1/2 days friendships could form so fast, but they did.  I guess long walks on the beach, playing with your camera, learning from one another and chatting about hopes and dreams can do that.

I have so many photos that I’d love to share.  But here is just a sample of the fun we had at Gather…….After you’ve looked through my photos, please pop over to my friend and fellow Gather participant, Laura’s blog to see photos from her experience there too.

Our tree is officially up for our first Christmas in our new house. It has been so much fun decorating our new place for the holidays.

And a big thank you to my sweet friend for the “home sweet home” ornament. It’s the perfect touch for our first holiday here. 🏠💕

So… I turned a pool ring and a bin of old garlands into a Christmas wreath and honestly, I’m feeling pretty proud of myself right now. 😂 Who knew this pink pool float could transform into a holiday wreath?

You know I love photography, but give me a craft project and I get super excited. This little DIY was easy, budget-friendly, and now my barn is looking sooo festive!

Am I the only one NOT ready for Christmas decor yet? 🍂

I’m still enjoying fall colors, pumpkins, and gold candles. It’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Thanksgiving is next week!

I just want to enjoy this season a bit longer before the twinkle lights take over.

Tell me I’m not alone — are you already decorating for Christmas or savoring fall with me? 🤎
