Trigger Trap, My Latest Photo Gadget

I have an addiction to photo gadgets.  I truly love any kind of device that is photography related and my collection of various goodies is growing.  My latest addition is the  Trigger Trap available at Photojojo and I think it is my new favorite gadget!  If you want to try one out for yourself, use this link and receive $5 off your purchase (on this or anything at Photojojo).

The Trigger Trap is a sync cord that lets you control your camera with your iPhone, Android phone, iPod or iPad via a free app.   It has many modes including standard trigger, motion trigger, sound trigger, time-lapse, distance-lapse, face detection trigger and customizable HDR.

All you have to do is plug the cord into your phone and camera, download the app and get snapping!  It is super easy to use….for me the hardest part was figuring out how to connect the cord to my camera.  I had a hard time lining up the connector (uh, yes maybe my cheater glasses would have helped..the perils of being in your 40s).

Anyway, I have only played with the time lapse feature on the app but it is great.  You can designate how many photos you want taken within your chosen time frame.  For example 60 photos taken over 2 minutes. I love that all you have to do is choose your settings and then click the “shutter button” and voila!

I am currently taking a class called Creating Time Capsules (which I LOVE as it has totally inspired to capture everyday moments in both still images and films) and one of our projects was to create a stop motion film.   And while I made several with the kids as my subjects, in the film below  I was able to be in front of the camera because of my Trigger Trap!

I saw the idea for a Gratitude Tree on Pinterest and thought it would be a wonderful thing to do with my family this November.

Change is hard… but it’s also really good.

After years in Silicon Valley, we made the move to wine country—and it already feels like exactly where we are meant to be. Slower mornings, more space, and a chance to breathe a little deeper.

One thing that pushed us to make the leap was the unexpected loss of a dear friend. Her passing was a heartbreaking reminder that life is short. We don’t always get “someday.”

So here’s your nudge from me: whatever’s on your heart, just do it. Don’t wait. Life is meant to be lived. 💕

Cheers to new chapters, more beauty, and saying yes. 🍷🍇🍷

I should be packing for our move…

But instead, I’m here having a blast at my latest branding shoot!

Swapping cardboard boxes for creativity feels like the right choice, don’t you think?

Packing can wait—this is way more fun.

I have big news to share……

We are moving at the end of the month! Eek! I’ve been quiet here on social media because the last month I have been busy with Goodwill runs, packing and planning! It is a lot of work to pack up a house you’ve lived in for nearly 21 years as a family of six! 😅

But we are trading the hustle and bustle of Silicon Valley for country living in wine country. 🍷🍇

I’ll still be working with clients on branding photo shoots and social media management but it may look a little different.

My husband and I are super excited for this new chapter in our life. And our kids are enthusiastic too! I have a dear friend who has been with me along this journey and while I’m a little nervous about the move (but mostly excited), I keep hearing her words whispered in my ear….”if not now, then when?”

So here we go!!! 🍇🍷🍇🍷
