Earlier this month I had the pleasure of photographing my dear friend and amazing founder of No More Broken Hearts, Victoria Dupuy. Victoria started NMBH 4 years ago after losing her husband, Dean, to a sudden heart attack. Dean was an amazing, seemingly fit guy and was only 46. He played hockey, mountain biked and was an avid skier, but sadly he had diseased arteries.
Victoria questioned doctors why a healthy young man, who recently had a physical, could have such a life threatening disease that went undetected. What she learned was there actually is a test called the coronary artery calcium scan that detects plaque in the arteries. Unfortunately this test is not part of a routine screening. Determined to make a difference, Victoria started NMBH to raise awareness about heart disease and the coronary artery calcium scan.
I have been fortunate to be by her side, serving as her marketing director and photographer. I’ve photographed numerous events and finally this year we did a personal brand photography session. We wanted to capture images that she could use for the press as well as photos for her social media. Our goal was to show her dedication to her non-profit as well as things she enjoys like journaling and taking her dogs for a walk and I think we did just that.
I can’t help but add in a few of the photos of the amazing project she’s working on. It is a Coronary Artery Calcium Scan bus! Yes this mobile bus will be bringing this life-saving test to our community. If you’d like to learn more about No More Broken Hearts and how you can bring this bus to your community, business or event please contact NMBH here.
And if you are interested in having your own personal brand photography session, please don’t hesitate to reach out. You can contact me at hello@kristinarustphotography or call 408.207.5010. I have also put together a free personal brand photography checklist that will help you plan your shoot which you can download here.
