One of the benefits of being an empty nester is that I can now make travel plans without much advance notice. So a few weeks I decided to go and visit my parents in Illinois. I had enough airline miles to do a last minute trip and as luck would have it the dates I wanted to travel were available, so off I went.
I had such a great time hanging out with my parents and my sister and her family. My mom and I decided to do a quick trip up to Wisconsin to visit my aunt who recently moved back to the area. She is my aunt who lived here in California for the past 30 years and was the reason I moved to California. It was great to see her in her new digs and to spend a bit of time at Lake Michigan. Lake Michigan is so beautiful and I always forget just how big it is. It really has an ocean like feel minus the big waves.
While I was home I also photographed a new Airbnb property that my sister and I now have together. This was a home that my husband and I bought with my dad. It was on the market last fall and was in terrible shape, but my dad has a way of seeing a diamond in the rough and transformed this it into an adorable home. My dad did all the renovations and my very thirsty sister who has a great eye decorated the place. My contribution was taking the photos for the listing.

It was so great to hang out with everyone for a week. The weather was lovely, our days were full of fun projects and best of all I got to spend quality time with those I love.
