Sagrada Familia and the Light

Last week I had a great time visiting my son in Barcelona.  He was there for the past two months doing a summer internship through his university.  While he was at work, I toured the city on my own and had a fabulous time.

Of course one of the sites I had to see was The Sagrada Familia.  I have been once before but was happy to go and visit it again.  As luck would have it, the only available time was 4 o’clock pm and it turned out to be an amazing time to go because the afternoon sun was spectacular through the beautiful stained glass windows.  I was so enamored with the light and was happy to be there on my own because I didn’t have anyone rushing me to leave.  🙂

Although I have a ton of photos from my trip, I thought I would focus my 7 on 7 post on the Sagrada Familia…. this stunning Roman Catholic Church designed by Antoni Gaudi.  March 19th, 2017 marked the 135th anniversary of the start of the construction and the plan is to have construction completed in 2026 to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of Gaudi’s death.  I hope to one day go back and see it in all its finished glory.

After you’ve had a chance to view my photos, please check out the lovely photos of my friend Janice and be sure to click through our blog circle.
