10 on 10 | October

This month I decided to incorporate one of my prompts from a course I’m taking called Creating Time Capsules by Xanthe Berkeley as my 10 on 10 inspiration.  Our first project in this course was to create a stop motion film.  This is my third class with Xanthe and for some reason in the first two classes I skipped over this assignment.  I’m so glad I decided to finally participate and give this a go.

It was fun to capture our afternoon through a series of images and string them together into a little film.  I learned that I need to keep my camera a bit steadier and that you actually need quite a few images to make a film…I think this has around 380 stills.  I also realized after shooting that my “thread” or common theme throughout the film, is my kids ignoring me….ha ha…yes, seriously.  Oh well, life as a mother of teens and tweens.

In any case I hope you enjoy this little glimpse at life at our house after school.  It’s filled with snacking, homework, cleaning up the kitchen and once all that is done, a little bit of play.  When you are done checking out my little video, please pop on over to see what Michelle has been up to and don’t forget to click through our entire photo circle.  🙂

There’s just something about charming downtowns like Saratoga, CA that make them perfect for headshot and branding sessions. ✨ Between the brick walls, tree-lined streets, colorful storefronts, and cute cafés, there are endless background options to fit your style.

Want something polished and professional? A clean wall or modern building front is perfect.

Looking for a creative, lifestyle vibe? We can shoot near a coffee shop patio or park bench.

Need a little pop of color? The historic shops and vibrant planters always deliver.

These little towns give such a mix of looks in one session—you can walk just a few steps and have a whole new backdrop. That’s why I love photographing here!

I always love my visits to TherapyWorks —for headshot days! 📸

I’ve had the honor of being their photographer for over 10 years (how lucky am I?) and it’s such a joy to capture their warm, welcoming team.

Here’s to more smiles, fresh photos, and another decade of working together! ✨

As a branding photographer, I’m used to squatting, bending, and scrunching up in tight spaces just to get the right shot. It’s part of the process. But let me be honest, I often feel it the next day. The quad burn is real. To me fellow photogs, can you relate?🤣
