A December to Remember | January 10 on 10

I am so excited to begin my fifth year  of this 10 on 10 project and am even more thrilled to have a few new fantastic photographers joining our group.  Katrina Kennedy of Capture Your 365 (an awesome site for photography inspiration and ideas),  Chloe  Lagier (an amazing designer and photographer from Mill Valley) Kelly Buss,(a wonderful photographer and blogger from Kansas City) and Erica Kennedy (a fabulous food blogger and photographer) are all joining in on the fun.  I had the pleasure of meeting all of these lovely ladies at the Firefly Institute photography camp this fall and am so happy to continue to get to know them through their images this year.

The holidays were wonderful and were jam packed with festivities.  I love this time of year and the traditions I share with friends and family.  Here are just a few of the fun activities that took place and made the past month a December to remember….

Every year we head up into the mountains to cut down our tree.  Unfortunately, our son Sam was not with us as he was still at school in Illinois. Even though we found our tree super fast (my kids are getting less and less patient), we ended up with a beauty.

The holidays are always a great excuse for a shopping trip in San Francisco.  I’ve been going up to The City with this lovely group of women for the past nine years.  The weekend away is always filled with bargain hunting, good food and lots of belly laughs.  These women know how to have a good time and thankfully go along with my photo requests!

Cookie exchanges and holiday crafting?  Yes, please.  Who can resist going to a party and leaving with a box filled with dozens of delicious cookies. I always make the same thing… a 7 Layer Bar (because it is super easy).  I like to think of it as my signature cookie.  🙂  I also love to get my holiday craft on.  This year we made yule logs and kissing balls.

My husband and I drove over to Santa Cruz mid-month to hear Wild Child.  I love this band.  If they ever come to your area be sure to see them. They have a folksy vibe that is so awesome.

After Christmas, my family headed to Tahoe.  We are so lucky to have family (my aunt and uncle) who live in Truckee and we go there every year to do a little skiing and this year drone photography.

Another must for our holiday season is to capture a family photo in front of the tree.  We’ve been doing this since our first son, Sam was born. Needless to say, we typically take the photo just before the tree comes down.  This year we managed to set up the tripod and take a few photos on New Year’s Eve.

Please be sure to click through our blog circle.  You’ll see gorgeous photos from some familiar faces as well as new ones starting with Birgette.
